Nikon Festival Series

From a Reality Program, to a Cannes Festival Ready Piece

The Right Honourable Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill (1874-1965)

Few more days and Nikon will be announcing the winners of the Judges and Audience Awards for the Nikon Festival on January 13th. If you’ve followed my first post, you probably would’ve known bits and pieces of my fantasy of winning the Judges Award ($100K USD) and approaching McCann Erickson with my “Phase III” marketing proposal to maximize “my winning money” to make a Festival ready piece set in both Malaysia and the States while becoming a fulltime filmmaker. Filming exterior shots has always posed an interesting challenge, especially when one doesn’t have the luxury of controlling the weather (more…)

Aspiring Artistes and DSLRs

'Inside of Me' by Elaine Lee (My creation for the Nikon Festival)

Though the economic downturn has definitely ushered in the advent of social media marketing, its recovery will not spell the end of this personalized/relationship focused ‘pull marketing’.

With the help of McCann Erickson, Nikon has recently launched it’s social media marketing campaign utilizing Twitter’s reach and effectiveness in creating buzz, as well as cashing in on the popularity of user-generated videos. (more…)
